13-14's TO PLAY BROOKINGS, SPEARFISH AT STATE
(July 29) - The Pierre Post
8 13-14 Teeners, owners of a 29-8 mark, will head to the State 13-14 AA
Majors Tournament this weekend in Mitchell.
Games will be played at both Cadwell Park and the adjoining Drake Field in
Mitchell.
All 13 teams will play two opening round games, and then the top eight teams
will be seeded into quarterfinal round action Saturday night.
The winners advance to Sunday to play out the semis, third place and
championship games.
Pierre will play Brookings at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Cadwell Park, then take on
Spearfish at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Drake Field.
A 2-0 performance would guarantee advancement into Saturday night's
quarterfinals, while 1-1 would leave them at the mercy of the tiebreaker
format.

13-14's PICK UP TWO MORE WINS IN WATERTOWN
(July 23) - The Post 8 13-14
Teeners improved to 25-8, sweeping Watertown Monday afternoon at Watertown
Stadium.
Post 8 won the opener 12-1 in five innings, then held on for a 7-4 win in
the second game.
Scott Cichos threw a two-hitter in game one, striking out six to earn the
victory.
Ryan Yackley went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, with John Burchill
and Josh Rogers each adding two hits.
Travis Adney led the way in game two, holding Watertown to seven hits and
four runs, striking out seven in a complete game win.
Yackley, Jacob Miller, Garrett Weber and Trevor Karst all had two hits for
Post 8.
The 13-14's end their regular season with a four-game set against the Pierre
13-year-old Patriots. Game times are noon Saturday and 5:30 p.m. Sunday at
Hyde Stadium.
13-14 TEENERS SPLIT IN BLACK HILLS
(July 21) - Pierre Post 8's
13-14 Teeners split a doubleheader with the Black Hills Pony All-Stars,
losing 7-0 and then winning 6-5 Saturday afternoon at Rapid City's McKeague
Field.
Black Hills rolled in the opener, roughing up starter Ryan Yackley for nine
hits and seven runs in five innings, while Post 8 mustered just five hits of
their own.
Pierre started slow again in game two, but a two-run fifth gave it the lead,
and they were able to hold off Black Hills 6-5.
Landon Busch threw seven innings on just 85 pitches, striking out five while
scattering nine hits in the win.
Yackley went 3-for-4 with two doubles to lead Post 8 in the win.
The 13-14's (23-8) are at Watertown Monday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
13-14's RUN AWAY WITH KIRLEY TOURNAMENT
(July 15) - Pierre Post 8's
13-14 Teeners allowed only three runs all weekend, winning all four games
and the championship of the Joe Kirley Tournament at Hyde Stadium.
Saturday, Post 8 defeated Black Hills 11-2 and Watertown 8-0, while Sunday
it was Pierre winning 4-1 over Aberdeen and then another 8-0 win over
Watertown.
Travis Adney was the winning pitcher Saturday vs. Black Hills, allowing
three hits while tossing all five.
Scott Cichos and Stephen Nielson each had two hits for Pierre.
Then against Watertown, Landon Busch threw a two-hit shutout. Garrett Weber
had two hits to lead Post 8.
Sunday, Ryan Yackley threw six frames to earn the win over Aberdeen, with
John Breckenridge tossing the seventh for a save.
Jordan Drapeaux and John Burchill each tripled in the win.
In the championship, an 8-0 win over Watertown, Cichos was the story.
He held Watertown to three hits while striking out five, and went 3-for-3
with two RBIs at the plate.
The 13-14's are 20-7 and head to Mitchell Wednesday for a 1 p.m. twinbill.
13-14's RUN ROUGHSHOD IN HURON
(July 9) - Pierre Post 8's
13-14 Teeners scored 36 runs in 10 innings of baseball, winning a pair of
mercy-shortened five inning games from the Huron 13-14's Monday at Memorial
Park.
Post 8 won 22-1 and 14-2.
Scott Cichos allowed two hits while striking out seven in game one, and had
three hits and five RBIs offensively.
John Breckenridge chimed in with three hits, and every Pierre starter had at
least one hit.
In game two, Ryan Yackley threw 4 2/3 innings of three-hit ball to earn the
victory.
Josh Rogers doubled to lead Pierre's seven-hit attack.
Post 8's 13-14 Teeners (16-7) host the second annual Joe Kirley Memorial
Tournament this weekend at Hyde Stadium, featuring Black Hills Pony,
Watertown and Aberdeen.
13-14 TEENERS SPLIT AT ABERDEEN
(July 6) - The Pierre Post 8
13-14 Teeners left Aberdeen with a split Friday afternoon, losing 6-2, then
winning 15-0 Friday at Fossum Field.
Jacob Miller suffered the loss in the opener, allowing seven hits and only
three earned runs.
Post 8 managed just four hits - a Scott Cichos double, and singles by
Miller, Stephen Nielson and Jordan Drapeaux.
Pierre bounced back for a 15-0, five-inning victory in the finale.
Travis Adney allowed just two hits, striking out seven without walking a
batter.
Trevor Karst singled, doubled and tripled, driving in three. Josh Rogers,
Landon Busch and Adam Deneke each had two hits.
The 13-14's are 14-7, an d travel to Huron Monday for a 5 p.m. doubleheader
with PB Sports of Huron.
13-14 TEENERS FALL TO POST
22 CADETS
(July 3) - Rapid City Post 22's
Cadets rallied twice in the late innings, sweeping the Pierre 13-14 Teeners
Tuesday afternoon at Hyde Stadium.
The Cadets won 7-5 in game one and 7-6 in the second game.
Post 8 led 4-0 after three innings before the Cadets rallied against pitcher
Scott Cichos, who was charged with the loss. Only four of the seven runs allowed
were earned.
In game two, pitcher Landon Busch allowed only three earned runs, as errors
allowed the Cadets to claim the sweep.
The 13-14's are 13-6 and travel to Aberdeen Friday for a noon doubleheader at
Fossum Field.
TEN STRAIGHT FOR 13-14 TEENERS
(July 2) - It's ten in a row
for the Pierre Post 8 13-14 Teeners.
Post 8 swept Brookings Monday, winning 15-0 and 16-11 at Hyde Stadium in
Pierre.
Pierre put up a 12-spot in the third inning of the opener, winning 15-0 in
just three frames.
Ryan Yackley was the winning pitcher, allowing just one hit.
Jordan Drapeaux had three hits and drove in three, while Scott Cichos,
Landon Busch and Yackley added two hits apiece.
In the second game, Pierre fell behind 8-3 but rallied to score three in the
fourth, four in the fifth, and three more in the sixth.
Travis Adney got the win in relief, striking out six in four innings.
Cichos and Jacob Miller led Pierre with three hits, Garrett Weber tripled
twice, and Yackley added a pair of hits.
The 13-14's are 13-4, winners of ten straight, and will host the Rapid City
Post 22 Cadets today at 1 p.m. at Hyde.
13-14 TEENERS RUN STREAK TO EIGHT
(June 29) - The win streak
for the Pierre Post 8 13-14 Teeners is now eight following a doubleheader
sweep of Aberdeen Friday afternoon at Hyde Stadium.
Post 8 won 6-2 in the opener, and then needed just six innings to take game
two 10-0.
Jacob Miller went the distance, striking out four while scattering five hits
in the opener.
Travis Adney outdid Miller in game two, holding Aberdeen to just one hit,
striking out four.
Adney, Miller, Ryan Yackley, Brady Neilan, Scott Cichos all had two hits.
The 13-14's are 11-4 and winners of eight straight. They will host Brookings
Monday at 1 p.m. at Hyde Stadium.
13-14 TEENER TOURNAMENT CHANGES
(June 27) - Post 8 13-14
Teener coach James Berreth announced changes that have been made to both the
State 13-14 Majors Tournament, and the Kirley Memorial Tournament.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the State 13-14 Majors Tournament has been
moved to Mitchell, where it will be played on Drake Field and Cadwell Field
the weekend of August 3-4-5. The event was originally set for Watertown.
Also, the Kirley Memorial Tournament will feature a slightly different
format from originally scheduled. This year, the Black Hills Pony League is
only entering one team, therefore the tourney will feature four teams
instead of five.

CICHOS HURLS NO-NO IN BROOKINGS
(June 26) - Scott Cichos tossed
the second no-hitter in a week for the Post 8 program, as the Pierre 13-14
Teeners ran their win streak to six in a row with a doubleheader sweep of
Brookings.
Pierre won 12-0 in five innings, and 6-1 Wednesday afternoon at Mickelson
Middle School Field in Brookings.
In game one, Cichos did not permit a hit in five frames, and also had three
hits.
Landon Busch got the win in game two, with Travis Adney earning the save in
relief.
The 13-14's (9-4) have won six in a row, and return home for Friday
afternoon twinbill with Aberdeen, beginning at 1 p.m. at Hyde Stadium.
13-14 TEENERS SWEEP WATERTOWN
(June 25) - The Pierre Post 8
13-14's swept the Watertown Black Sox Monday afternoon at Hyde Stadium.
Pierre won 7-1 in the opener, then rallied with six runs in the 7th for a
13-9 win.

13-14 TEENERS GO 1-2 AT WATERTOWN TOURNEY
(June 17) - The Post 8 13-14
Teeners lost a pair of one-run games, taking third at the Watertown Optimist
Club Tournament at Watertown's Premier Field.
The 13-14's defeated the Sioux Falls Cobras 6-1 before losing to Aberdeen
3-2 Saturday, then lost in the semifinals to Watertown 3-2 Sunday.
John Breckenridge permitted just one hit in a complete game victory over
Sioux Falls.
In the loss to Aberdeen, Ryan Yackley went the distance, but three unearned
runs did in Post 8.
Sunday in the semifinals, Post 8 held a 2-0 lead and was one out from a
victory, but a three-run walk-off homer ended Pierre's weekend with a 1-2
mark. Scott Cichos threw 5 2/3 of three-hit ball, but all three runs off of
him were again unearned.
The 13-14's are 3-4, and will open up the home portion of their schedule
Friday against Huron. First pitch is 5 p.m. at Hyde Stadium.
13-14's TAKE THE EASY ROUTE IN
ABERDEEN TOURNAMENT
(June 3) - It took only eight innings total for the Pierre Post 8 13-14
Teeners to pick up two wins.
The 13-14's defeated the Northville A Teeners 15-0 in three innings, then
defeated the Aberdeen 13-14's 10-0 in five frames Sunday at Fossum Field in
Aberdeen.
Originally scheduled as a two-day, five-team event, rain turned it to a
one-day mini-tournament.
In the Northville victory, Ryan Yackley led the way, going 3-for-4 with two
doubles, while Jacob Miller, John Burchill and Stephen Nielson all added two
hits.
Then against Aberdeen, Scott Cichos and Yackley combined to hold Aberdeen to
two hits while striking out five.
Cichos also did his fair share at the plate, tripling twice and driving in
four. Jordan Drapeaux chipped in with two doubles, and Miller had two hits
and two RBIs.
The 13-14's are 2-2, and open the home portion of their schedule Thursday
against Mitchell. Game time is 1 p.m. at Hyde Stadium.
DAY ONE OF ABERDEEN TOURNEY CANCELED
(June 2) - The opening day of the Aberdeen 13-14 Teener Tournament has been canceled due to rain.
The Post 8 13-14's are still scheduled to play a doubleheader Sunday, facing Northville's A Teeners at
1 p.m., followed by the Aberdeen13-14's at 5 p.m. at Fossum Field.
POST 22
CADETS SWEEP 13-14's
(May 29) - The Rapid City Post 22 Cadets swept a doubleheader from the
Pierre Post 8 13-14 Teeners Monday afternoon at Floyd Fitzgerald Stadium in
Rapid City.
The Cadets led the entire way in the opener, a 4-3 win, then rallied for an
11-6 victory in the nightcap.
Post 8 held a 3-0 lead in the second contest, but a six-run fourth was the
undoing for Pierre.
The 13-14's will have the rest of the week to prepare for the Aberdeen
Invitational Tournament at Fossum Field.
Post 8 will play the Northville 15-16 A's Saturday at 3 p.m., followed by
the Aberdeen 13-14's at 7 p.m. Sunday, Pierre plays Redfield's 15-16 A
Teeners at 11 a.m., then the Watertown 13-14 squad at 1 p.m.
SEVEN RETURN
TO LEAD 13-14 TEENERS
(April 2) - For the Pierre Post 8 13-14 Teeners, last year's team made up of
primarily younger talent will turn into a positive, as half the squad
returns, poised to lead the team back to a state title.
This season, the 13-14 Teeners will play a 42-game regular season slate,
capped by participating in the State AA Majors 13-14 Tournament, August 3-5
in Watertown.
The team's schedule will feature the same teams as last year, with one
exception - the Rapid City Post 22 Jr. Bullets, a team comprised of 14-year
olds from the successful Post 22 program.
July 14-15 is the weekend of the second annual Joe Kirley Memorial
Tournament, which again features five teams: Pierre, Aberdeen, Watertown and
two Black Hills Pony squads.
The regular season will again conclude with the four-game series against the
Pierre Tracers, who will play in the State AA Minors Tournament in
Brookings, July 28-29.
James Berreth is in his third season as the head coach of the Post 8 13-14
Teeners. His first two teams have put together a 43-38 record.
In 2006, the 13-14's went 26-16, winning the Aberdeen Invitational. The team
went 1-2 in pool play at the state tournament.
