Teeners split with Aberdeen; end season over .500
(07.30.05) -- The Pierre Post 8 B Teeners ended their
season with a 22-21-1 mark after splitting a doubleheader with the Aberdeen
B Teeners Friday at Hyde Stadium in Pierre.
Aberdeen took the opener 9-7, while Pierre took the nightcap 16-9.
Aberdeen posted a six-run first in game one, with a late Post 8 rally
falling short. Brian Chicoine took the loss.
In game two, Post 8 slammed out seven runs in the first frame, and led the
entire way. Brian Drapeaux was the winning pitcher.
The B's ended their season over .500, winning ten more games than a season
ago.

Teeners complete four-game sweep of Ponys

Pierre Post 8's B Teeners completed a four-game sweep of the Pierre Pony All
Stars, taking a doubleheader Wednesday by scores of 16-6 and 10-0 at Hyde
Stadium.
Post 8 took the opener in five innings, with Brian Chicoine going the
distance for the victory. Scott Szuggar had three hits, while Chance
Frederick, Doyle Holden, Ben Young and Chicoine all added two hits apiece.
In game two, Frederick tossed a no-hitter in another five inning game.
Frederick allowed one base runner, on a dropped third strike, in gaining the
victory. Chicoine and Jordan Solberg each had two hits.
The B's, 21-20-1, will look to end their season over .500 with their final
contest of 2005, a 3 p.m. doubleheader with the Aberdeen B Teeners Friday at
Hyde.

Teeners win first two over Pony Stars

The Pierre Post 8 B Teeners cruised in a sweep of the Pierre Pony All Stars
Tuesday night, 14-3 and 14-1, at Hyde Stadium.
The B's scored four runs in the first and three more in the second of game
one, riding the wave to the win. Drew White threw all five innings for
Pierre.
Jordan Solberg and Will Corcoran each had three hits, with Doyle Holden
adding two for Post 8.
In game two, the B's used an eight-run first and ran away from there.
White and Corcoran each had two hits for Post 8, with Brian Drapeaux getting
the win by throwing all five frames.
The B Teeners, 19-20-1, will complete their series with the Pony All Stars
tonight in a 5 p.m. doubleheader at Hyde Stadium.

sweep Huron

The Pierre Post 8 B Teeners swept a doubleheader from the Huron B Teeners,
winning 11-4 and 12-6 Friday night at Hyde Stadium in Pierre.
Chance Frederick led Pierre in game one with three hits, while Paul Sheldon
added two. Brian Chicoine was the winning pitcher, throwing the first 4 1/3
innings. Brian Drapeaux finished out the contest on the mound.
In the second contest, Frederick threw 4 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to
earn the pitching win.
At the plate, Will Corcoran and Chicoine each had three hits. Frederick,
White, Scott Szuggar and Steven Sweetman had two hits apiece.
With the sweep, the Pierre B's are 17-20-1. Post 8's annual four-game set
with the Pierre Pony All-Stars takes place Monday and Tuesday, with each
night's twinbill beginning at 5 p.m.

Teeners on both ends of blowouts in Winner

The Pierre B Teeners played just nine innings in Winner Tuesday night,
splitting a doubleheader with the Winner A Teeners at the Leahy Bowl.
Post 8 took the opener, which was scheduled for five innings, 16-4. The game
was called after the fourth frame.
Paul Sheldon was the winning pitcher for Post 8, allowing three earned runs.
Drew White and Quinn Holden led Post 8 with three hits apiece, while Will
Corcoran and Doyle Holden each added two hits.
Game two was Winner's turn to dominate, a 14-4, five-inning loss for Post 8.
Dylan Reimers was the losing pitcher, while Post 8 managed just two hits -
singles by Will Corcoran and Drew White.
The B Teeners, 15-20-1, will host Huron Friday night at Hyde Stadium. First
pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Teeners take two in Aberdeen

The Pierre Post 8 B Teeners were impressive in a sweep of the Aberdeen B
Teeners, winning by scores of 15-3 and 13-5 Monday afternoon at Fossum Field
in Aberdeen.
Post 8 won the opener in five innings, as Drew White tossed a complete game,
striking out eight en route to the victory.
Brian Chicoine and Quinn Holden led Pierre at the plate with three hits
each. Jordan Solberg, Will Corcoran and Scott Szuggar each added two hits
apiece.
In game two, Pierre needed the full contest to grab the eight-run win.
Chance Frederick tossed the first four innings for the victory, with Brian
Drapeaux throwing three innings of scoreless relief to finish it off.
White, Frederick and Jordan Paul each had three hits, with Quinn Holden,
Doyle Holden and Paul Sheldon each adding two hits.
With the sweep, the B Teeners improved to 14-19-1. They visit Winner today
to take on their A Teeners in a 6:30 p.m. doubleheader at the Leahy Bowl.

Watertown sweeps B Teeners
(07.12.05) --
The Pierre Post 8 B Teeners were swept by the Watertown B's, losing 6-5 and
11-1 Monday afternoon at Watertown Stadium.
In the opener, Watertown broke open a 2-2 tie with four fifth-inning runs,
and held off Post 8.
Will Corcoran hit an RBI triple, and Brian Chicoine had an RBI single for
Post 8. Chance Frederick was the losing pitcher.
In game two, Post 8 scored first, but Watertown scored the rest, winning
11-1 in five innings. The loss went to Steven Sweetman.
The B's dropped to 12-19-1 on the year. The B Teeners as a whole will have a
week off, returning to action with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Aberdeen on
Monday, July 18. Some of the B's, however, will play on the Post 8 JV team
that is entered in the
Kris Stephens Memorial Tournament this
weekend at Hyde Stadium.

Pierre Post 8's B Teeners found themselves on both ends
of five-run decisions, splitting a doubleheader with the Groton A Teeners
Friday night at Locke/Karst Field in Groton.
Pierre dropped the opener, 12-7, but took the finale 16-11.
In game one, Post 8 nursed a 7-6 lead into the sixth inning, but a six-run
Groton rally gave the home team the opener.
Quinn Holden had three hits for Pierre, while Paul Sheldon had two. Holden
was saddled with the loss.
Post 8 jumped out to a big lead in game two, and held on for a 12-7 win.
Three Pierre pitchers combined on the win, with Dylan Reimers tossing the
final 3 2/3 for the victory.
Brian Chicoine had three hits, Steven Sweetman had two, and Reimers had two
while driving in four runs.
The Post 8 B Teeners, 12-17-1, head to Watertown Monday for a 3 p.m.
doubleheader.

Teeners split with Chamberlain

The Pierre Post 8 B Teeners split a twinbill with the Chamberlain A Teeners
Wednesday at Hyde Stadium.
Chamberlain took the opener, 7-1, while Pierre won game two in eight
innings, 5-4.
In the opener, Doyle Holden had three hits, and Jordan Solberg had two,
including the game's only RBI. Brian Chicoine added a triple for Post 8.
Chance Frederick was saddled with the loss.
In game two, Post 8 rallied for two in the bottom of the 6th, to tie the
game, then pushed across the winning run in the eighth.
Ben Young came through in the eighth with an RBI single to score Solberg's
winning run. Previously, Solberg tripled in a run, then scored on a Will
Corcoran sacrifice fly in the sixth to tie the game.
Chicoine had two hits, and pitched a perfect eighth inning to gain the win.
Brian Drapeaux threw seven strong innings, allowing just two earned runs in
a no decision.
The B's, 11-16-1, will visit Groton Friday for a 5 p.m. doubleheader at
Locke/Karst Field.

lose two at RC 320

The Pierre Post 8 B Teeners were swept by the Rapid City Post 320 Rising
Stars, losing 14-4 and 9-4, Tuesday night at Pete Lien Field in Rapid City.
Post 8 had just two hits in the opener, singles by Steven Sweetman and Ben
Young. Brian Chicoine was the losing pitcher in the game, which only went
five innings.
Rapid City earned the sweep with a 9-4 victory in the second game. Quinn
Holden had two hits, and Dylan Reimers drove in two runs for Pierre.
Sweetman was charged with the loss.
The B's, 10-15-1, will host the Chamberlain A Teeners tonight at 5:30 p.m.
at Hyde Stadium.

Teeners rebounded from a tough defeat in game one to earn a split with the
Belle Fourche A Teeners Thursday night at Belle Fourche Field.
Post 8 trailed 5-2 after six innings of game
one, and rallied for three runs, thanks in part to two big errors, to tie
the game. Belle Fourche then pushed a run across in the bottom of the inning
for the win.
Brian Drapeaux threw the final three innings, getting the loss in relief.
Jordan Solberg led Pierre with two hits.
In the second game, Pierre trailed 3-2 before scoring 12 runs in the fourth,
defeating Belle 15-4 in five innings.
Brian Chicoine led Post 8 with three hits, while Will Corcoran, Dylan
Reimers and Quinn Holden had two apiece. Steven Sweetman was the winning
pitcher.
The B Teeners, 10-13-1, will travel to Rapid City Tuesday night to play the
Post 320 Rising Stars for a 6 p.m. CDT doubleheader.

B Teeners split with Mitchell 14's
(06.28.05) -- The Pierre B Teeners rallied for
a run in the sixth, defeating the Mitchell 14 Teeners 8-7, splitting a
doubleheader with them Monday night at Hyde Stadium. Mitchell earned a split
by taking game two 22-7 in five innings.
Mitchell jumped out to an early lead in the opener, but left the bases
loaded in each of the first two innings. As the B's rallied, Brian Drapeaux
threw three innings of one-hit relief, and was the winning pitcher.
Drapeaux started the rally in the sixth with a basehit, and moved to second
when it was misplayed in left, and scored on Scott Szuggar's single.
Brian Chicoine was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Quinn Holden also went 2-for-3
in the win.
Mitchell put up four in the first inning of game two, then scored 11 in the
second, winning 22-7 in five innings
Paul Sheldon tripled twice, leading Post 8 with three hits. Will Corcoran
and Ben Young each added two hits apiece. Steven Sweetman was saddled with
the loss.
The B Teeners, 9-12-1, will travel to Belle Fourche Thursday to take on
their A Teeners. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Belle Fourche.

B Teeners rally in finale for split with Belle
(06.25.05) -- The Pierre B Teeners rallied for
six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, winning game two 18-15 over the
Belle Fourche A Teeners Friday night at Hyde Stadium. Belle Fourche earned a
split by winning the opener in five innings, 12-2.
Chance Frederick had two hits to lead Post 8 in the opener. Dylan Reimers
got the loss, allowing seven runs in two innings.
In game two, Frederick picked up the win in relief. Three Pierre batters hit
triples: Brian Drapeaux, Brian Chicoine and Quinn Holden.
In all, Chicoine and Reimers led Post 8 with three hits apiece. Jordan
Solberg, Will Corcoran and Drapeaux each added in a pair of hits in the win.
The B's are 8-11-1 after Friday's split. They will host the Mitchell 14
Teeners Monday at 3 p.m. at Hyde.
Two schedule changes for this coming week: the home doubleheader scheduled
for Wednesday with Watertown has been cancelled. A makeup date has not been
announced. The B's will however travel to Belle Fourche Thursday for a 6
p.m. doubleheader rematch with the Belle Fourche A's.

B's drop two at Chamberlain
(06.23.05) -- The Pierre Post 8 B Teeners were
swept by the Chamberlain A Teeners Wednesday evening, 16-1 and 7-3, at Grieg
Field in Chamberlain.
The first game lasted just four innings, with Pierre managing just three
hits: two by Will Corcoran and one from Carl Morris. Chance Frederick was
the losing pitcher.
Chamberlain scored five runs in the first two frames of the nitecap, holding
on for the victory. Paul Sheldon was the losing pitcher, with Steven
Sweetman throwing four innings of excellent relief.
Corcoran again had two hits in game two, with Doyle Holden and Ben Young
supplying the other two hits.
The B's are now 7-10-1 on the season. They host the Belle Fourche A Teeners
Friday for a 5 p.m. doubleheader at Hyde Stadium.

B's drop 13-5 decision to Gregory
(06.20.05) – Pierre Post 8's B
Teeners ended 0-2 in play at the Winner Father's Day Tournament, dropping a
13-5 decision to the Gregory A Teeners Sunday at the Leahy Bowl in Winner.
Gregory scored in every inning, as the B's dropped to 7-8-1 on the season.
Brian Drapeaux went the distance, recording the loss.
Quinn Holden hammered out three hits, and Drew White added two for Post 8.
The B's will travel to Chamberlain Wednesday to take on the Chamberlain A
Teeners. Game time is 6 p.m. at Grieg Field.

B Teeners sweep Watertown; fall to Platte
(06.18.05) -- Pierre Post 8's B Teeners swept
the Watertown B Teeners, 10-3 and 11-10 in eight innings Friday night at Hyde
Stadium in Pierre.
In the opener, Jayson Herra tossed a complete game, striking out eight.
Pierre broke the game open with a six-run second inning and never looked
back.
Sam Koenecke and Paul Sheldon each had two hits, one of Sheldon's a triple.
Jordan Shangreaux also tripled for Post 8.
In game two, Pierre rallied for two seventh inning runs to force extra
innings, and scored one in the eighth to win it.
Down 10-8, Post 8 loaded the bases with two outs. Koenecke had an RBI
single, and then Shangreaux tied the game by drawing a walk.
In the eighth, Sheldon came through with a single to score Jordan LaBrie
from third for the victory.
Drew White threw the first seven innings, with LaBrie picking up the win in
relief.
Shangreaux was hit three times, doubled, and walked once in the game.
Koenecke, White, Sheldon, Scott Szuggar and Dylan Reimers all had two hits.
The B Teeners also opened
up play in the Winner Tournament Friday afternoon, dropping a 17-0, three-inning
decision to the Platte A Teeners at the Leahy Bowl in Winner.
Chance Frederick was the losing pitcher. Jordan Paul had a double, and Will
Corcoran singled for Post 8's two hits.
There are only seven teams in the tournament, so the B's will have Saturday off,
and play at 2:30 Sunday for sixth place.
The B Teeners are now 7-7-1 on the year.

Teeners sweep Huron B's
(06.15.05) -- The Pierre Post 8 B Teeners
improved to 5-6-1 with a sweep of the Huron B Teeners, 10-5 and 11-4, Tuesday
evening at Huron Stadium.
The opener featured the second consecutive excellent outing from pitcher Brian
Drapeaux. The southpaw hurled a complete game, striking out 12 for his second
win. Drew White had two big hits for Post 8 - a three-run triple and a
two-run double. Steven Sweetman also had two hits in the win.
Brian Chicoine was the winning pitcher in game two, throwing five innings to
gain the decision. Chicoine also had three hits for Post 8.
Quinn Holden, Doyle Holden and White also had three hits. White again
doubled and troubled, with Quinn Holden doubling twice and his brother once.
The B's will have double duty Friday, as one squad will host Watertown for a 5
p.m. doubleheader at Hyde Stadium, while another team of B's will travel to
Winner to take part in the
Father's Day Tournament at the Leahy Bowl.

B Teeners split home games with Winner
(06.13.05) -- The Pierre Post 8 B Teeners won
game one, but a disastrous fifth inning in game two ensured a split of a
twinbill with the Winner A Teeners Sunday afternoon at Hyde Stadium.
Game one, which was scheduled for only five innings, went to Pierre 6-2.
Chance Frederick was the pitcher of record, throwing a five-inning
no-hitter. He did walk three batters, and errors allowed two runs to score.
Drew White had two hits, including an RBI triple for Post 8. Frederick, Will
Corcoran, Doyle Holden and Quinn Holden each added two hits as well in the
win.
Game two saw Post 8 take a 3-1 lead into the fifth, when Winner pushed
across six runs, five unearned, and held on for a 7-4 win.
White was the losing pitcher, despite an excellent 5 1/3 innings, allowing
just two earned runs.
Corcoran had a double and a triple for Pierre, with White and Dylan Reimers
adding two hits each.
The B Teeners, 3-6-1, will be at Huron Tuesday, for a 5 p.m. doubleheader.

B's, Post 320 split
(06.10.05) -- The Pierre Post 8 B Teeners
earned a split in their home opener, winning 12-2 and losing 9-8 Thursday
against the Rapid City Post 320 Rising Stars at Hyde Stadium.
In game one, Brian Drapeaux hurled a six-inning complete game, scattering
four hits in the victory. Pierre scored seven runs in the fifth and three in
the sixth to end the game.
In the nitecap, Post 8 led most of the way, and held a 7-5 lead going into
the seventh. Post 320 plated four runs in the top half of the seventh, and
things seemed bleak for Pierre. Post 8 managed two infield hits, and with
the help of two Stars errors, Pierre had the winning run on second with one
out before two strikeouts ended the contest.
The B Teeners are now 2-5-1 on the season. They will host Winner for a
Sunday matinee, with the doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. at Hyde.

B's earn split with Watertown
(06.03.05) -- Pierre Post 8's B Teeners ended
a 15-game losing skid, spanning three seasons, against the Watertown B's,
winning game two and splitting the doubleheader, Thursday afternoon at
Foundation Field in Watertown.
Post 8 led 3-2 in game one before Watertown put up four in the fourth and
six more in the fifth, defeating Pierre 12-5. Will Corcoran had three hits,
with Brian Chicoine and Quinn Holden each adding two. Errors were costly,
however, with Drew White picking up the loss.
In the nitecap, Pierre ended the skid with a 12-6 victory. Brian Drapeaux
was the winner, throwing four innings, with Chicoine finishing the game.
Alex Lauseng was 4-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Corcoran was 3-for-4,
and Jordan Paul had two hits for Post 8.
The B Teeners, 1-4-1 on the year, are off until June 9, when they open up
the home portion of their schedule against the Rapid City Post 320 Rising
Stars.

B Teeners drop
three, tie one in Brandon
(05.29.05) -- After losing their first three games, the
Pierre B Teeners pushed Sioux City (Iowa) North to a 9-9 tie in the final game
of the Dakota Sports Classic in Brandon.
The tie came about because the tournament rules dictated six-inning games
without extra innings, and since the teams were tied after six, the game was
called. Post 8 actually trailed 9-6 in the 6th, plating three runs to tie the
game. Will Corcoran had three hits in the game, including a triple, and
Quinn Holden doubled twice, driving in four.
The B Teeners lost handily to Brandon Valley to open the tournament, 14-1. Drew
White, who scored Pierre's only run, was the losing pitcher.
Pierre followed that up with an 11-7 loss to Luverne, Minn. Post 8 led for
much of the game before Luverne rallied for the victory. Chance Frederick
got the loss, with White and Dylan Reimers getting two hits apiece.
On Sunday, the B's dropped the opener to Garretson 10-4. White had two hits for
Post 8, with Brian Chicoine getting the loss.
Pierre will return to action on Wednesday, as they travel west to take on Belle
Fourche. Game time is 6 p.m. Central.
