Chamberlain sweeps B Teeners
07.10.06 - The Chamberlain A Teeners swept a doubleheader from the Pierre B Teeners Monday, winning the opener 7-2 and taking the nightcap 8-7 in eight innings at Grieg Field.
Tyler Sandal tossed a complete game in the opening loss. Ryan Hahn and Dylan Reimers each had two hits.
Game two went back-and-forth, with the score knotted at seven after seven frames.
Post 8 loaded the bases with one away in the eighth, but two groundballs kept Pierre off the scoreboard. Chamberlain would triple and single in the bottom to win the contest.
Quinn Holden led Post 8 offensively, going 4-for-5 in the losing effort. Reimers threw the entire game, and had two hits.
The B Teeners, 12-20, play at Sioux Falls Central Wednesday, with the doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.

B Teeners drop game to Groton
07.02.06 -- The Pierre Post 8 B Teeners finished the Pierre B Teener Triangular 2-2, losing the championship game to the Groton B Teeners 14-3 Sunday afternoon at Hyde Stadium.
Rapid City Post 320's Rising Stars elected to go home early and not play Pierre in the final game Sunday night, forfeiting the contest.
In the championship game against Groton, Groton jumped out to a 6-2 lead after two innings, leading the entire way.
Raven Cummings allowed 11 runs in four innings on the hill, and was the losing pitcher.
The B's are 12-14 on the year. They will travel to Aberdeen Wednesday for a noon doubleheader.

Aberdeen, B Teeners split
06.29.06 - Pierre Post 8's B Teeners rallied from a six-run fourth inning deficit in the opener to win game one and earn a split with the Aberden B Teeners Thursday afternoon at Aberdeen's Fossum Field.
Trailing 8-2 after three frames, the Post 8 bats came alive, and Mick Hofer threw two innings without allowing an earned run as Pierre claimed an 11-10 win.
Ryan Hahn, Chase Campbell, Tyler Sandal and Tyler Moodie all had two hits as Pierre rallied to win the opener.
In game two, Pierre was held to two hits while striking out nine times, as Aberdeen won 8-0 in a scheduled five-inning game.
Kevin Stiles and Sandal had the only Pierre hits. Drew Badger was the losing pitcher.
Post 8's B Teeners, 10-12, will host a triangular this weekend. The event, which features Rapid City Post 320's Rising Stars and the Groton A Teeners, begins Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m., with three games each day.

Aberdeen sweeps B Teeners
06.23.06 - Aberdeen needed 10 innings in the opener, and just four in game two, sweeping a doubleheader from the Pierre Post 8 B Teeners Friday at Hyde Stadium.
Aberdeen won game one 11-9, then beat Post 8 16-1 in the nightcap.
In the opener, Post 8 scored four runs in the seventh inning to tie the contest, and the teams went scoreless in the eighth and ninth before two Smitty runs in the 10th gave Aberdeen the victory.
Aberdeen scored 13 one-out runs in the third of game two, winning 16-1 in the second game. The game was changed to a five inning contest due to the long opener, and ended after just four frames.
The B's, 9-11, will play their second of two intersquad games Monday night at 5:30 p.m. at Hyde Stadium.

B's make short work of Brookings
06.19.06 - Pierre Post 8's B Teeners outscored Brookings 28-5, needing only 11 innings to sweep a doubleheader Monday night at Hyde Stadium.
Post 8 won the opener 16-3 in five frames, then took the nightcap 12-2 in six innings.
Drew Badger struck out six in a complete game effort on the mound, while every Pierre player had a hit in the opening game victory.
Ryan Hahn went 4-for-4 with five RBIs, hitting a double and a triple. Dylan Reimers added three hits, including two doubles, and Mick Hofer had two hits for Pierre.
In the second game, Post 8 needed six innings to dispose of Brookings 12-2, behind Reimers' complete game, four strikeout effort.
Reimers also added three hits, while Kevin Stiles and Raven Cummings each added two hits. Both of Stiles' hits were doubles.
The B Teeners improved to 9-9 with the sweep. They will host Aberdeen Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Hyde Stadium.

B's drop two, finish Winner Tourney 1-3
06.18.06 - The Pierre Post 8 B Teeners were swept Sunday, ending play in the Winner Father's Day Tournament with a 1-3 record.
O'Neill (Neb.) bettered Pierre 13-2 in five innings, then Winner nipped the B's 9-6 at the Leahy Bowl.
O'Neill pounded out all 13 runs in three innings off of starter Raven Cummings. Paul Sheldon had the lone offensive highlight for Pierre with a triple.
Sheldon then turned in a complete game effort on the hill against Winner, holding the squad to just five earned runs while striking out seven.
He also went 2-for-3 with a triple in a losing effort, while four others added two hits - Jordan Solberg, Dylan Reimers, Tyler Moodie and Nick Weyrich.
The B's, 7-9, are back in action Monday, hosting Brookings for a 4 p.m. twinbill at Hyde Stadium.

B Teeners beat Gregory, lose to Colome
06.17.06 - The Pierre Post 8 B Teeners split their first two games in the Winner Father's Day Tournament Saturday at the Leahy Bowl.
Post 8 fell 9-1 to Colome, then defeated Gregory 17-6 in five innings.
Colome held Pierre to just two hits - singles by Carl Morris and Chase Campbell - as Colome claimed a 9-1 victory.
Dylan Reimers threw six innings, allowing seven runs in the loss.
Jade Bartel entered the Gregory contest with Pierre down 4-0, and held the Gorillas to just two runs as the Post 8 bats came alive in a mercy-shortened five-inning win.
Paul Sheldon went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while Morris had two hits, one a triple, and four RBIs. Raven Cummings also had two hits to balance out Pierre's offensive attack.
The B's will play O'Neill (Neb.) at 2 p.m. and Winner at 6 p.m. Sunday to round out play in the tournament.

Rising Stars overpower B's in sweep
06.14.06 - Rapid City Post 320's Rising Stars scored 25 runs and pounded out 32 hits, sweeping the Pierre Post 8 B Teeners, 10-4 and 15-4, Wednesday at Pete Lien Field in Rapid.
In game one, the Rising Stars capitalized on Pierre errors, scoring six unearned runs off starting pitcher Raven Cummings, who was dealt the loss.
Quinn Holden went 2-for-4, and Drew Badger hit a two-run double for Pierre.
Game two lasted just five innings, with the Rising Stars winning 15-4.
Paul Sheldon, who was the losing pitcher, had two of Pierre's three hits. He tripled and doubled, driving in a run for Post 8. Holden had the team's only other hit, an infield single.
The sweep drops the B Teeners to 6-6. Post 8 will play in the Father's Day Tournament in Winner this weekend, playing Colome at 10 a.m. and Gregory at 2 p.m. Saturday, then O'Neill, Neb. at 2 p.m. and Winner at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Leahy Bowl.

B Teeners, Mobridge split again
06.12.06 – For the second time in a week, the Pierre Post 8 B Teeners and the Mobridge A Teeners split a doubleheader, the latest Monday night at Hyde Stadium.
Post 8 took game one 8-4, then Mobridge won the second contest 6-1.
Paul Sheldon hit a three-run homer in the opener, and also doubled, going 2-for-3. Ryan Hahn added two hits for Post 8 in the win.
Dylan Reimers allowed three runs, all unearned, in six innings of work to earn the pitching victory.
Pierre struggled from the outset of game two, falling behind 6-0 after four innings. Post 8 did score one and load the bases in the seventh before coming up short.
Hahn went 2-for-4 with an RBI as Pierre managed seven hits, three of them in the final frame.
Drew Badger tossed five innings and was the losing pitcher.
The B's, 6-4, will travel to Rapid City Wednesday to take on the Post 320 Rising Stars. Game time is 6:30 p.m. CDT at Pete Lien Field in Rapid City.

B Teeners rally for split with Mobridge
06.07.06 - Following a disappointing 6-5 loss in game one, the Post 8 B Teeners bounced back with a convincing 15-3 win in game two, earning a split in Mobridge Wednesday.
Pierre trailed 5-2 in the opener, but rallied with three seventh inning runs to tie the game. Mobridge would score in its last at bat also, claiming the 6-5 win.
Carl Morris hit the two-run single that tied the game at five before Mobridge rallied. Jordan Solberg, who relieved Paul Sheldon, was the losing pitcher.
In game two, Dylan Reimers held Mobridge to three runs in six innings as the B's dominated.
Post 8 led 9-3 after six, then added six runs in the final stanza to increase the ending margin.
Morris had a three-hit day for Pierre, driving in two runs. Josh Hartmann and Jordan Solberg each added two hits, with Solberg tripling twice.
The Post 8 B Teeners are 4-2 this season, and will open up the home portion of its schedule Friday against Sioux Falls Central. Game time is 1 p.m. at Hyde Stadium.

B's earn split with Winner
06.06.06 - T
he Pierre Post 8 B Teeners split a doubleheader with the Winner A Teeners Tuesday, winning game one 10-3 before falling game two 10-9.
In the opener, a game scheduled for just five innings, Tyler Sandal went the distance on the hill to earn the victory.
Paul Sheldon hit a grand slam inside-the-park home run, driving in five runs in the win.
Post 8 held a 9-3 lead after five innings in game two before Winner rallied for six in the sixth and another in the seventh to claim the victory.
Raven Cummings pitched 5 1/3 innings without earning a decision for Pierre. Drew Badger was charged with the loss in relief.
Offensively, Quinn Holden went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Cummings had two hits and drove in two runs, and Dylan Reimers also had a pair of hits.
The Post 8 B’s, 3-1, will be at Mobridge today for a 4 p.m. twinbill.

B's score 48 runs in sweep of Huron
05.31.06 - Pierre Post 8's B Teeners put up 48 runs in 12 innings Wednesday, sweeping a doubleheader (30-24 and 18-7) from the Huron B Teeners at Memorial Park in Huron.
Pierre scored in every inning of both games to start its season 2-0.
Post 8 won a wild opener that lasted nearly three hours 30-24.
Tyler Sandal can claim a unique stat - allowing 20 runs in five innings and earning a win on the mound.
Ryan Hahn had four hits, including three doubles, and drove in four runs while Paul Sheldon doubled twice and also drove in four.
Jordan Solberg went 2-for-3, but also drew five walks, as every Post 8 player had at least one hit.
Post 8 continued its hot hitting in the finale, and 18-7 win in five innings.
Dylan Reimers gave up four runs in four innings to earn the pitching win.
Solberg led the offensive attack with three hits, two doubles, and four RBIs. Quinn Holden also doubled twice and walked twice, driving in three runs.
The B Teeners, 2-0, will have nearly a week off before they return to action next Tuesday in Winner.

B Teeners move date with Winner
05.21.06 -- Due to a scheduling conflict with Winner's A Teeners, the Pierre B Teeners have changed the date for their trip to Winner.
The B's will play a 6 p.m. doubleheader with Winner on Tuesday, June 6, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Leahy Bowl.
The games were originally scheduled for Sunday, June 4.

B Teeners add dates with Mobridge
05.01.06 -- The Pierre Post 8 B Teeners have added a pair of doubleheaders with the Mobridge A Teeners.
The B's will now only play two intrasquad games, as what was scheduled to be the third intrasquad matchup will now be a home date with Mobridge.
Post 8 will head to Mobridge on June 7 for a 4 p.m. doubleheader, then the two teams will meet in Pierre five days later, June 12, for a 5 p.m. twinbill.

B Teeners add tournament, new coach
04.02.06 -- The Pierre B Teeners have a new coach and will host a tournament for the first time in four years in 2006.
Allen Goodman, the rookie of the Post 8 coaching staff, takes over the reins of the B Teeners after Brian Pope was promoted to Legion assistant.
Goodman's squad will host Groton and Rapid City Post 320 for the B Teener Tournament July 1-2 in Pierre. The B's will also participate in the Winner Father's Day Tournament June 16-18 at the Leahy Bowl in Winner.
The B's will only start two doubleheaders before noon this season, the most night games the squad has ever had. A new wrinkle this year will be three intrasquad games. Due to Mitchell and Watertown being unable to field an extra team, Post 8 has found three dates in which the team will play intrasquad games at Hyde Stadium. Sunday, May 28, Monday, June 12 and Monday June 26 are the dates. Each game will begin at 5:30 p.m.
The B Teener coach, Allen Goodman, was a member of the Pierre Post 8 Legion team that finished third at state a season ago. Goodman's father, Jim, is a member of the Pierre Post 8 Baseball board. Allen's brother Greg also coached, spending two seasons in the Post 8 program.
