ALLEN GOODMAN
B Teener Coach

Allen Goodman begins his second year as the coach of the Pierre 15-16 B Teeners.

The name Goodman is nothing new to baseball fans in the area, nor is Allen himself. Goodman spent seven seasons playing in the Pierre Post 8 program, playing two seasons of B Teeners, two at the A Teener level, and the last three as member of Jim Iverson's Legion squad.

Goodman hit .303 during three years with Post 8's Legion, hitting 22 doubles, two triples and five home runs while driving in 81 runs during his career.

But it was Goodman's arm, not his bat, that he was most known for. He won at least eight games every season, compiling a 25-13 career mark, highlighted by an outstanding 8-3 campaign in his first year on the Legion. Goodman ended his career on the mound with a 3.89 earned run average and 149 strikeouts in 249.2 innings pitched.

Goodman's brother, Greg, played two seasons on the Post 8 Legion before coaching in the program, heading the B Teeners in 2001 and the A Teeners in 2002.

Jim Goodman, Allen's father, is a member of the Post 8 baseball board. Goodman was a standout baseball player at Chamberlain High, then played many years of amateur baseball in Pierre.

Goodman, the son of Jim and Jeanne Goodman, will be a senior this fall at North Dakota State in Fargo, N.D.
