4th Annual Stephens
A TEENERS
Memorial Tournament

The event will feature five teams -- Mitchell A Teeners, Rapid City Post 320 JV, Valley Springs A Teeners, and both host teams, the Pierre A Teeners and a Pierre Junior Varsity team.

The tournament is named in memory of the former KCCR Sports Director, who was at the station from 1991 until his death, losing his battle to cancer on August 5, 2001. Stephens loved sports, especially baseball, and provided play-by-play for games even before the press box was installed at Hyde Stadium in 1994.

Stephens' wife, Nancy, and his daughter, Sara, were presented with a plaque commemorating the event in 2001.

*The championship game was rained out, so the Rapid City Post 320 JV and the Sturgis JV played the opening game of a doubleheader the following Thursday for the championship, with Post 320 winning the inaugural crown.
