3-0 and 4-1 before Pierre broke out for eight in the 5th inning and grabbed an 11-4 win.
Curtis Egan doubled and tripled for Post 8, while Logan Dahl tossed a complete game and
was the winning pitcher. Game two was a back-and-forth contest that will be remembered as
much for the weather as for the game. With rain steadily falling from the 2nd inning on,
and even halting the game for ten minutes, the squads traded leads, and went into extra
innings. In the bottom of the 8th, Zack Edman's slow ground ball scored Paul Sheldon to
give Post 8 the win. Sheldon relieved Egan, who went 6 2/3, and got the win. The B's
improved to 11-35 on the season. They end their year Friday night, as they take on the
Pony All Stars in another doubleheader, beginning at 5 p.m. at Hyde Stadium.

five hits in the contest, and left seven men on base. Zack Edman was the losing pitcher.
In the nightcap, Pierre rallied from a 6-0 deficit to force extra innings, but dropped a
heartbreaker 7-6 in nine innings. Pierre scored six in the 6th, capped by Jordan Paul's
two-run single, to tie the game. Winner pushed across a run on a wild pitch with no one
out in the 9th to win the game. Logan Dahl threw the first seven innings, with Sean Melmer
charged with the loss in relief. The B Teeners, 9-37 on the season, will have their

Memorial Park.
- B Teeners see high and low ends in split
(06.12.04) -- After seeing his squad no-hit in a 10-0, five inning
loss, Trevor Fisher rallied his troops. The result was a Post 8 B Teener team that had not
shown its face yet, getting an early lead and hanging on for an 11-10 victory, splitting
with the Aberdeen Twins B Teeners Friday at Fossum Field in Aberdeen. Jason Mangan hurled
a complete game in the opener, with Post 8 not getting a hit. Game two was a different
story, as Curtis Egan, Chad Johnson and Sam Willard all doubled in the game. Egan had
three hits, the latter two. Mangan also had two hits. Willard started the game, leaving
after 5 2/3 with his team up 11-8. Jordan Heckenlaible, a member of the 13&14 Teeners
who made the trip, came in and allowed a run in the sixth. Then in the 7th, Heckenlaible
allowed a run and loaded the bases with nobody out. He then drew a groundout, struck out a
batter, and drew another groundout to grab the second Post 8 B Teener win. Brian Pope's B

winning in five innings. Curtis Egan was the losing pitcher. Jacob Gran and Dan Timmons
each doubled for the losers. In the second game, Post 8 again struggled out of the gate,
as Mitchell scored 12 first inning runs, only one of which was earned. Sean Melmer threw
four innings, allowing just two earned runs, and was saddled with the loss. The B Teeners,
1-7 on the season, are at Chamberlain Wednesday, first pitch at 6 p.m.
- B Teeners lose two at Watertown
(06.03.04) -- Brian Pope's Pierre Post 8 B Teeners opened up
their schedule Thursday night, and played two vastly different games, but were swept in
Watertown. In game one, Post 8 struggled offensively and defensively, and fell 11-1 in
five innings. Zack Edman was the losing pitcher. In game two, Post 8 trailed 8-3, but came
back to tie the game at nine. The Black Sox were too much, however, as they scored in the
bottom of the seventh to notch a 10-9 victory. Logan Dahl was the victim, throwing an
excellent game despite getting the loss. Sean Melmer, the former Watertown resident who
moved to Pierre earlier this year, had a great homecoming, going 6-for-7 at the plate. The

scoring on an error to get Post 8 on the board. Jason Mangan was the losing pitcher. In
game two, Chance Frederick hurled a complete game, garnering the victory. Sam Willard,
Zack Geigle and Paul Sheldon each had a pair of hits for Fisher's B Teeners. Brian Pope's
B Teeners kick off their season Thursday, as they go to Watertown for a 4 p.m.
doubleheader.
- Watertown takes two from B Teeners
(05.29.04) -- Watertown continues to be unfriendly to the Pierre
Post 8 B Teeners. Pierre's losing streak in Watertown is up to nine now, as they were
swept by the Black Sox Friday afternoon at Watertown Stadium.
Watertown won the first game 9-2, Curtis Egan charged with the loss. Jason Mangan
and Riley Hultman had the squads only hits. In game two, Watertown needed just four
innings to notch a 15-0 victory via the mercy rule.
In the doubleheader, the Post 8 B Teeners left 13 men on base, seven in scoring
position thanks to their patience at the plate. With few hits, they drew numerous walks
and had opportunities, but the hits never came.
This was Trevor Fisher's team, and Brian Pope's B team will head to Watertown
Thursday for another matchup with the Black Sox. Fisher's squad returns to action
Wednesday at Mobridge.
