The Pierre Post 8 Split Squad will begin the 2005 season this weekend, taking part in the Dakota Sports Baseball Classic at Valley Springs Park in Valley Springs.

The tournament is an excellent fit for Post 8, as only one of the other four teams involved are scheduled for home-and-home doubleheaders this season.

The tournament has a round-robin format, with Pierre playing each of the other four teams.

8 a.m.  - Valley Springs vs. Yankton
10 a.m. - Pierre vs. Mitchell

2 p.m.  - Mitchell vs. Yankton
